Commodore's Welcome

On July 18-19, 2006 aspiring young sailors from all over the Northeast will converge in the town of Northeast Harbor on Mt. Desert Island, ME for one of the most fun, educational and inspirational junior sailing events of the year. Our volunteers are hard at work to ensure that this USA Junior Olympic Sailing event will be the best ever.

I want to personally invite you to bring your students and junior sailors to Northeast Harbor to participate in this two-day event. Whether they are learning to sail an Optimist, transitioning to a 420 or Laser Radial, or are seasoned competitors, this is an opportunity to have fun, meet fellow young sailors, receive intensive coaching, learn and compete in one of the most beautiful venues in the country.

We have structured this event to make it convenient and attractive to out-of-town participants. I encourage you to stay and enjoy Acadia National Park with its hiking trails, carriage paths and amazing natural beauty.
